The history of dog showing
in the Saint John, New Brunswick area goes back to before the organization
of the Canadian Kennel Club. Breeder/fanciers of the day held shows in conjunction
with the local poultry shows under American Kennel Club rules. Those
humble beginnings in the early 1880’s, marked the birth of the New Brunswick
Kennel Club. In 1907, the club was formally organized. Thirty years
later the club was incorporated and continues today.
August 22, 2005 was a noteworthy day
in the club’s history marked by
the hosting of our 400th dog show.
In 2007, we celebrate our Centennial!
